Another seafood makan. This time at Long Beach Seafood Restaurant at Dempsey Hill.
Impressive building - like a colonial bungalow. You can eat outside or in the restaurant.
Mom-in-law doing the ordering.
What big Alaskan Crabs!
Rather disappointed with the food. Maybe my expectation was too high as this is Long Beach, famous for their seafood.
This time, we had Black Pepper Crabs - the black pepper sauce was buttery and spicy but the crabs' flesh was kind of soft.
We were recommended their Garlic Prawns which they claim is their signature dish - definitely not lip-smacking and again the flesh was soft. Should have ordered the Nestum Prawns instead.
I am not a foodie connoisseur but if the prawns' flesh is soft, it means it's not so fresh right? And was the crabs overdone as the flesh was kinda soft?
Ok, maybe this is just a one-off, I don't know.
The saving grace was this dish called "Dong-Pao Pork-Ribs" - not that "Dong-Pao Pork" that originates from Hangzhou. It comes in individual serving. It was coated with a sauce and it was really soft. Huge piece - my MIL couldn't finish it.
My choice of seafood restaurants - definitely "Red House".
