Had signed Eugene up for his once a week Chinese class.
All smiles and excited.
The teacher starting the 1st lesson which were the words : hands and feet
Parents were allowed to stay (if they want to) for the first day, though the teacher discourages it. Then later, some of the parents started sneaking out of the classroom
One kid started crying, then the next, then the next, then the next.......

soon, it was MASS HYSTERIA and complete MAYHEM!
One particular boy was screaming so loud and some were trying to open the door to get out of the classroom.
and Eugene got into the act too!
Now, Eugene have never cried in class, even when he went for his first playgroup at 18months.
But I guess, he was kind of dramatised by the loud, incessant crying of all, I mean, all the kids and there were 11 of them that day!I feel that the parents should try to stay with their kids on the first day if they are able to.
And if they want to leave the kids, they should tell their kids that they are leaving but will be back for them when the lesson is over.
They should not try to sneak out of the classroom because it will be scary for the kids when suddenly they turn around and their mommies, daddies are not there.
Just say smilingly to them that you're leaving and will be back to get them later and just turn around and walk out. Don't say it and then still linger.
The teacher was trying to line them up against the wall so that she can do some song and dance.
But I think the kids felt that they were being punished for something as they have to stand there alone without their care-givers. So all of them screamed even louder.
So there you have 2 groups taking turns to cry.
