FJ brought back souvenirs from Taiwan which were the good-luck mini lanterns and everybody got voucher from Tangs. Thanks and hope to see you soon!
AA made 2 trips to a shop (1st trip, shop was closed) specially to pick up some goodies to put inside gold ingots. Thanks too!
So this post will be pics and pics of our group to remember by.
We decided to have dinner at the 7th Storey Restaurant at the Marina Barrage.
Good colleagues became good friends!
Our two favourite guys!
HUAT AH!!!
There were the yu-sheng, seafood steamboat, the hainanese chicken and pork-chops.
I was still nursing my sore-throat so I had only the yu-sheng and steamboat. Couldn't eat the pork-chops as it's fried stuff and thus heaty. Couldn't eat the chicken as it seems that chicken will create more phlegm...duh......
After dinner, we went up to the roof garden again to view the kites which have little lighted bulbs attached to them. Looked like space ship.
NCC, er...is this the space ship you were talking about?
Marina Bay Sands looks so beautiful at night.
We next adjourned to PS Cafe at Dempsey for dessert and drinks.
He now wants to be a Pollen Jock in the Bee Movie (the pollen jocks are the bees who goes out of the hive to collect pollen. They are the elite bees, like the top fighter pilots in Top Gun)
Yep, he's no longer into Bob The Builder.
So I've made and change my blog's background to Bee Movie and have superimposed the pollen jock's helmet and pollen gun (special gun to collect pollens) on him.
He was thrilled to bits when I showed his photo to him, helmet and pollen gun and all - though I think he must be wondering, "but I don't remember wearing the helmet and holding the pollen gun at all!".
Of cos, once again to mention this to my readers - this background is sized to my computer screen. So if you have a different size screen from mine, you might see the background as either too big or too small. In either case, just hold down 'ctrl' and use the centre scroll wheel on your mouse to either size it bigger or smaller so that the background will fit your screen.
Had a small early birthday celebration for my father whose birthday falls on the 9 December.
Sis-in-law bought the cake.
My eldest nephew is so tall now! He used to lament that he was one of the shortest in class but look at him now. And he's looking more and more like my brother. The same texture of hair and tall and lanky.
The only other place similar to this revolving restaurant was the "Top Of The M" at the Mandarin Hotel. I remembered looking down on the twinkling lights of Orchard Road.
The yam roll was excellent! so melt-in-your mouth.
According to their website, the restaurant is helm by the Hong Kong Chef Chan and one of the house specialties is the Peking Duck.
Well, we had the Peking Duck. My in-laws had asked for more meat to be cut along with the skin. Well the whole skin and meat was hard and dry. It was such a disappointment to me.
Did we get an "old duck" hence the tough meat or did the person doing the duck had an "off" day that day?
See some of the places I had Peking Ducks and the comparison here.
Had signed Eugene up for his once a week Chinese class.
All smiles and excited.
The teacher starting the 1st lesson which were the words : hands and feet
Parents were allowed to stay (if they want to) for the first day, though the teacher discourages it. Then later, some of the parents started sneaking out of the classroom
One kid started crying, then the next, then the next, then the next.......

soon, it was MASS HYSTERIA and complete MAYHEM!
One particular boy was screaming so loud and some were trying to open the door to get out of the classroom.
and Eugene got into the act too!
Now, Eugene have never cried in class, even when he went for his first playgroup at 18months.
But I guess, he was kind of dramatised by the loud, incessant crying of all, I mean, all the kids and there were 11 of them that day!
I feel that the parents should try to stay with their kids on the first day if they are able to.
And if they want to leave the kids, they should tell their kids that they are leaving but will be back for them when the lesson is over.
They should not try to sneak out of the classroom because it will be scary for the kids when suddenly they turn around and their mommies, daddies are not there.
Just say smilingly to them that you're leaving and will be back to get them later and just turn around and walk out. Don't say it and then still linger.
But the main thing is, TELL YOUR CHILD, DO NOT SNEAK OUT!
The teacher was trying to line them up against the wall so that she can do some song and dance.
But I think the kids felt that they were being punished for something as they have to stand there alone without their care-givers. So all of them screamed even louder.
So some of the kids you see (against the wall) here have kind of quieten down a bit while the teacher was trying to pacify the rest. But when the teacher managed to quiet down the crying group, the previous quiet group started crying again. So there you have 2 groups taking turns to cry.
