Mariott Cafe

29 December 2010

Tried out the lunch buffet at the Marriott Hotel.

Most of the food were nice but the Japanese rolls were horrible - the rice and the fillings were dry and this was made by a Japanese guy.

Eugene loves gnawing at bones and chewing the little bits of meat still on it.

Favourite drink - Iced Milo!

Jurong Bird Park - 2010

27 December 2010

Kissy Parrots!

Indiana Eugene!

Waiting for the Bird Show.

Pelican Island

The tallest man-made waterfall, not sure if just in Asia or world, forgot

Eugene was tired and he climbed and sat next to this gal and I was intending to take a shot.

The next thing I knew, I saw kids trooping into view on my camera screen, then they sat in a row and waited for me to take a pic, huh?  ***lol****

Aren't all of them so adorable?

Birds Feeding Time!
All of them seemed so tame, even these two exotic birds below.......

And my favourite is the.......Penguins!
Only because they look so cute!

Here's Eugene having his very first taste of laksa.

oooh.... spicy! (but he was still game in eating it)

Hammer

26 December 2010

Hubby was knocking some rubber onto the bottom of our dining chairs and Eugene had a go at it.

Looks so pro.

Climbling Up Ladder

26 December 2010

I had written about Eugene climbing the window grilles here, when he was under 2 years old

Now he has progressed to actually climbing a real ladder, under hubby's supervision of cos.

He had no problem going up but hubby have to teach him how to get down - like how and where to place his hands for a firm grip. Just told him once and he was all system go.

Looking to get a firm foothold.

Almost there.

I'm at the top!

What's That Word?

Eugene don't like to read.

Eugene likes looking at picture books but when I read out to him, he would quickly flips the page.

"Darling, look here, look at the words that I am pointing at"

Eugene's eyes was all over the page except where I wanted him to look.

"Hello? here, here, where are you looking?"

I guess it was partly our fault.

When he was a few months old baby, we would show him picture books and make up stories. Even when progressing to books with some words, we would still tell our own stories, thinking that he's just too young. Guess we were wrong, now, he does not even want to look at them.

Hmm..... maybe try flash cards?  He would have to look at the word, right?

So I sat him down and flash..... flash...........

He started to turn his head right and left......

Maybe I was going too slow and he's bored? Aha, I should do it the ala-Shichida way! - that is, flashing the cards fast!

Flash, Flash, Flash

Christmas Presents 2010

25 December 2010

Ma-in-law made a Christmas stocking for Eugene and had also sewn his name on it. She filled it with some small presents.
After Eugene had gone to sleep, I hooked up his stocking in his cot so that he can discover it the next morning.

Oh, Santa Claus left me a present 'cos I've been a good boy.

Yeah, my own hand-phone!

Thank-you Santa!

More presents!

Our present to Eugene is his very own head-phone.
Why a head-phone? Well, so that Eugene can watch his tv programme using the head-phone without disturbing hubby listening to his music.

Thank you everyone for the presents!

Christmas Eve Dinner 2010

24 December 2010

Ma-in-law cooked the main dishes.

I did the Pumpkin Soup....
(recipe coming up in a later post)

and Sis-in-law did dessert ......

and also made gingerbread. So cute, there's a stocking with Eugene's name, christmas trees, stars and of course, the gingerbread man.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE
