Happy Birthday To Mommy

I didn't have any intention of a birthday party or anything. In fact, I forgot it was going to be my birthday till my hubby reminded me.

My mom insisted on buying me (and family) a birthday dinner.

After dinner, I smsed my group and told them the reason why I could not join them that evening for dinner. And guess what, the group after their dinner, went to get a cake and came to my house for a late night birthday celebration. I knew my group would want to do some celebration but I didn't want and don't like to trouble anybody, so that's why I did not say the reason till quite late.

And so, it was a surprise, but a very nice surprise when they smsed and advised that they were coming over to my place.

 My Kakilicioius group
As one of my groupie said, all of us posing so nice for the camera whereas Eugene was eyeing the cake, lol

Thank you, my Kakilicious group.

Swimming Playdate

19 December 2013

Playdate with Eugene's classmates.

SO FUN !

Eugene's favourite classmate (centre, yes, the kid's big for his age) - Eugene looks up to him as his kor-kor but unfortunately he's going to Primary 1 next year and won't be seeing each other that frequent anymore.

Thanks mommies H and N for organising this gathering. Sorry I couldn't make it that day.

River Safari n Amazon River Quest

12 December 2013

Look at the tiny frogs. Can see or not ?

When we stepped in, the panda just climbed down from the tree..... draz......

Told the kid to open his eyes when taking pic and we get this cartoon look from him... haiz......

Long, long queue for the Amazon River Quest ride.
Some entertainment while waiting.

Eugene made friends with the kid queuing in front of us.
We queued for 2 hours !

We were very, very disappointed with the Amazon River Quest ride. It was ill conceived and gimmicky.

We just float down this narrow 'river' (as someone had commented, more like a canal) - think the 'lazy river' at our local swimming pool - have to see fast fast or you'll float past and the ride was all of about 6 minutes.

The only exciting part was when we got into the boat and a kind of elevator lifted up the boat to the next level to start the ride. Then there were about 3-4 downward splashes along the ride. It was fun but hey, if I want this kind of fun, I'll go to Disneyland.

The ride is at the moment free but if one have to pay extra for it, it is definitely not worth it at all.

The way it's been done, it's better that the management just do away with this ride unless they can come up with something better.

Verdict on the Amazon River Quest ride : LAME

 Now back to River Safari..................................

That's a tortoise. Very good camouflage ya.

Piranha!
I thought they would be put in a more spectacular display but alas.......
They were quite still, looking and waiting. Nice shimmery silver on their bodies.

Amazon Flooded Forest
Display concept exactly like the SEA Aquarium.

Otters

On our way home, we spotted a rainbow among the rain clouds.

River Safari is worth it.

Amazon River Quest - forget it.

Christmas Display

The lights are at least 10 years old. Every alternate light bulb was not working and hubby painstakingly tested every bulb and finally fixed the problem, yay !

Small paper lanterns were bought at Chatuchak market in Thailand, also about 10 years ago !

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.....

Have a Merry Christmas !

Sembawang Park Playground

05 December 2013

Heard about this playground for quite sometime but had never found the time to visit until now.

There are no stairs to climb up.
The kid climbed up the net stairs but got scared and came down.

Had to go to the next level by this hole and then have to step on the net to get to the platform.
Guess what happened? The kid suddenly got cold feet and started crying and wanted to get down and we told him he have to step back onto the net in order to get down the same way. But he managed to get onto the platform but was hanging tightly to a railing and afraid to walk. Hubby had to get up there to be with him.

After he got down, he said he didn't want to play anymore. We said ok and we went to sit down.

We saw him going back to the playground and the next thing, he went inside the hole and onto the net and up onto the platform all by himself! (an auntie pushed him up into the hole as it was too high for him)

This boy ah! He's the type where he must assess it for himself - cannot rush him.

This is the hole that you had to get into, step onto the net to get onto the next level.

He had the most fun doing this - running towards it and trying to jump up into the hole. He managed to do it twice.

He joined a group of kids lining up to take their turns trying to get into that hole/tunnel. Everybody had a good time with clapping and all.
