The Gang @ Brunetti

26 Feb'2012

Our group had lunch at Scotts Square but oh dear, I do not know the restaurant's name.
AA had made reservation there and we just followed :)

The restaurant have big bird-cages outside and it serves both western and eastern food.
Two in the group ordered the Asam fish and it was quite a big portion.
Considering that this is in the Orchard road area, the prices' very reasonable.

We hopped on next to Brunetti at Tanglin Mall.

I love their ice-cream - especially the Pistachio - really creamy and infused with the Pistachio taste. You must order this!

Ok, some shots of the gang (everybody likes to have their pics taken).

Trying out some special effects from my iphone :)

AA, this is for you - done in the style of "Aquarell"

Ok Gang, till we meet again!

Wimbly Lu

25 Feb'2012

Was recommended this quirky place called "Wimbly Lu" - I like the name, so quirky too.

They are known for their chocolates. From what I know, they started out as a chocolate only joint and then slowly adding in more stuff like light food and desserts.

One half of the owner hand-making the desserts.

Looks so yummy!

The front part of the place have got a little corner for the young ones. There's a treasure box of toys and a shelf of books.

I like the back part as it's got a glass ceiling.

A very nice and cosy place to hang out.

My Molten Lava cake.

Ok, let's get down to the food.

We had a tuna cheese sandwich and a baked rice (lasagne all finished) to share as we wanted to leave some space for the desserts.

The sandwiches and baked rice (too dry) were just so-so. But then the food are not their specialty.

We ordered :

Molten Lava cake : very very thick rich chocolate inside.

Chocolate creme brulee : I thought the whole thing will be chocolate but only the topping is chocolate while it's normal egg creme brulee below.

Waffles with vanilla ice-cream drizzled with chocolate : I usually don't like waffles 'cos the ones I've tasted so far in S'pore were chewy and hard.
But this is the best! Crunchy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside.
I'll most probably go back for the Waffles!

Well, to my taste, the Molten Lava cake and the Chocolate creme brulee were good but not spectacular. I guess I expected more as I've read some great reviews.

But I will be back to try out other kind of desserts and of cos, definitely will be ordering the Waffles.

Oh, apparently they use organic eggs.
